Questions people actually ask

Where do my images go?: Nowhere. The PDF is assembled inside this page, on your machine. The app is served with a Content-Security-Policy that only permits connections back to its own origin, so the browser refuses to send your images anywhere — watch the network tab while it works.
My phone photo came out sideways in other tools. Will it here?: No. A phone usually records “the camera was on its side” as a tag rather than by rotating the pixels, and simpler tools ignore that tag and embed the sideways pixels. PDFMod reads the orientation and re-saves those photos upright before they go into the PDF, so a picture that looks right in Finder looks right in the PDF.
Can I use HEIC photos from my iPhone?: Not directly — browsers can’t decode HEIC reliably, so rather than embed a blank page PDFMod refuses HEIC files by name and tells you how to get a JPEG. On the iPhone: Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible switches the camera to JPEG; or open a HEIC in Preview and export it as JPEG. JPG and PNG are supported.
What does “Fit image” do versus A4?: Fit image makes each page exactly the shape of its image, edge to edge, with no border — good for screenshots and scans. A4 or Letter drops each image, scaled to fit and centred, onto a standard sheet with a margin you choose, and Auto turns the sheet to match the image so a landscape photo isn’t tiny in the middle of a portrait page.

Going the other way — a PDF’s pages out as images — is PDF to JPG. JPG and PNG are supported here; HEIC is refused by name, because a browser can’t decode it reliably and a blank page is worse than an honest no.
